BIO
After completing a Licentiate degree in Orthopedagogical Sciences at the University of Leuven in Belgium, Dr Luc De Nil worked for a number of years at a speech rehabilitation centre in Belgium providing assessment and treatment services to children who are deaf or hard of hearing, as well as to children and adults who stutter. Subsequently, He obtained a Ph.D. degree in communication disorders from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in the US, followed by a 2 year post-doctoral research position in the Speech and Motor Control Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Upon completing the post-doc, he joined the faculty in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto, where he currently is a Full Professor. In addition, from 2012-2017 he served as Vice-Dean (students), and as Acting Dean from 2017-18, in the School of Graduate Studies. He is also cross-appointed to the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute at the University of Toronto where he serves as Associate Director.
